There was food home made by the Iraqi families (refugees), Iraqi coffee and tea, Iraqi sweets and cookies and Iraqi music played by 2 Iraqi singers / guitar players

Die In for Single Payer Health Care 

This video is about 40 minutes long on Archive.org

It documents the speeches before the Die In and then follows the folks into Earls office where about 20 people lay down in the office... more lie in the hall.... and about 25 more lay down outside on the sidewalk 

A few cops were on hand "watching"They remained off to the side or "in the hallway" but didn’t interfere, nor arrest or hassle anyone From what I was told Earl Blumenauer does NOT support "Single Payer Health Care"

This protest was held in NE Portland at Earl's office on Oregon street

I filmed this Die In where as Earll is also my congressman’s

This action was at Earl's Portland office on May 27 2009

For 22 minutes concerned citizens (lied on the floor" died to bring awareness of the 22 thousand people who die each year due to a lack of health care

Earl Blumenauer does not support Single Payer (Not for profit)

Five Videos From Peace March on 4.4.09

A peace march in Portland Oregon that was using the slogan “We Want Change Not War” marched from the south parks blocks... gathering participants as it weaved through downtown to Salmon street, by The Saturday Market.

I have 5 videos from that march posted online (see below).

The march was loud and peaceful, as a handful of police casually monitored. The protest was a made up of a variety of citizens across all social platforms and cultures. The march at times was three blocks long. There will be a set of videos from the speeches at the Salmon street Rally posted here on PDXpeace real soon.

Here is the video of Michele Darr who is at Camp Homebound on the capital steps with a peace vigil. She has fasted, collected signatures, protested, pleaded, been arrested, stayed on the steps for 24 hour intervals, and has been actively involved with trying to keep the

Oregon National Guard home. The Individuals For Justice in Portland Oregon send their regards and a letter of recognition in this video.

There was a couple dozen people out in the cold along Hall street in Beaverton across from the Library. Standing at their weekly vigil with "Peace & Justice" signs and [battery run] candles, and a few stories about working for peace to share with the community (and me)

I was informed of a Peace Art Display going on in Cedar Mills the first weekend in March by a couple of folks at this vigil as you see in Part 1

This group meets every week on Wednesdays @ 6:30

Oregon PeaceWorks sponsored the Oregon Peace Summit III on February 7, 2009 from 9:30 a.m. until 4:30 p.m. at the First Congregational Church, in Salem.  

All Oregon peace groups were invited to send at least one representative to meet with representatives of other Oregon peace groups.

The intentions were to develop an Oregon peace strategy for 2009, and to build the Guard Home Campaign and improve statewide communication within the peace community.
